Joyce Mathew is the Centre Director and Chief Embryologist of the Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) programme at the National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore.
She joined the ART programme at NUH, after having obtained MS from the National University of Singapore in 1993.
She has extensive experience in the field of ART. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), blastocyst culture, embryo biopsy for preimplantation genetics, use of laser for assisted hatching, ovarian tissue cryopreservation are all standard practice in the ART program at NUH. Her current focus is on vitrification of embryos and In vitro maturation of oocytes.
Joyce has trained many embryologists and has served as consultant to several clinics and provided consulting services in various aspects of embryology such as ICSI, embryo cryopreservation, troubleshooting, laboratory design, laboratory setup etc.
Given her experience in clinical embryology, she has been invited as consultant to ART clinics in Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan, Korea etc.
She was a lecturer and practical instructor for the Masters of Clinical Embryology course at the National University of Singapore from 1997-2001 and ART workshops conducted by National University of Singapore from 1995-2002.
She had an ongoing training programme for basic and advanced practical training in ART at NUH from 2006 until October 2010.
