I specialise in embryology because… This is a unique calling and a very fulfilling job. We are scientists who work with sperms, eggs and embryos to help infertile couples have babies. Our work involves the use of highly specialised and sophisticated equipment and we need to have good psychomotor skills because eggs and embryos need to be handled gently. Read more

Housed within the National University Hospital (NUH), the facility is dedicated to training clinicians and embryologists who are seeking to develop their skills in Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART). Number of IVF local cycles have doubled in the last five years (News, Lianhe Zaobao)


The number of IVF cycle done in Singapore doubled in the past five years. However, this is less than half of the number of cycles done in countries such as Denmark. Public Awareness, cost and attitude may be causes of such disparity. Prof PC Wong, director of Centre for Reproductive Education and Specialist Training (CREST) shared this information on the opening of the first-of-its-kind purpose built centre in Asia-Pacific. Fertility treatment training centre launched (Home, The Straits Times)
